This exciting and intensive course has been designed for people considering a career in the make up industry and wanting to learn the correct principles of make up application to commercially acceptable time. A location shoot is included weather permitting. Models are provided and photographed using Nikon photographic equipment resulting in hard copies being provided for your individual portfolio outcome of 175 images to form the basis of a professional portfolio. All courses are run in our make-up studio.
New - If you are a beauty therapist qualified to NVQ level 2, you may on production of your certificates be exempted from week one of the course and still recieve the Foundation Certificate in Makeup Artistry, through the apl route (accreditation of prior learning) You will be required to complete all course work. The cost of the course is also reduced to £1585.00, this will depend on course capacity.

• Introduction to Skincare and facials
• On this day you will be taught skin analysis and the correct procedure for conducting a facial and understanding of skincare products and there appropriate use.
Day 2 or Weeks 3-4
• Introduction to Make-up
• Application of Day Make-up
Day 3 or Weeks 5-6
• Eyebrow Shaping & Tinting
• Contouring and Highlighting
Day 4 or Weeks 7-8
• Make-up for Glass and Contact Lens Wearers
• Evening Make-up
Day 5 or Weeks 9-10
• Evening Make-up
• Application of False Lashes
Day 6 or Weeks 11-12
• Make-up for Oriental, Asian and Black Skin tones
Day 7 or Weeks 13-14
• Application of Fashion Make-up
Day 8 or Weeks 15-16
• Special Occasion Make-up
• This day is aimed at creating looks for portraiture and glamour make-overs for photography.
Day 9 or Weeks 17-18
• Bridal
• Bridal make-up is a specialisation and this day will teach you the essential techniques to produce stunning bridal looks. From planning the bridal make-up to creating three bridal looks.
Day 10 or Weeks 19-20
• Portfolio Nights
• Students to produce four different looks using models for their portfolios.
All candidates must
• Complete daily learning log
• Complete a Make-up Record Card for each procedure
• Complete a Make-up Face Chart for each procedure
• Create Photographic evidence of all work undertaken
• Undertake all assessments to satisfactory competency standard
• Complete Knowledge Reviews to demonstrate underpinning knowledge
• Case Studies to be produced further to the course and submitted to ensure full range covered minimum 2 Day make-up, 2 Evening make-up, 2 Fashion make-up, 2 Other skin tones, 2 Special Occasion, 2 Bridal, you must incorporate the use of tinting, false eyelash application, use of liquid or block eyeliner into 2 of the above case studies.
Produce a Project which includes producing a leaflet describing your services, developing a mood board, creating a CV, research and produce a Make-up Artist Directory, Complete the self study pack.
