Nintendo Face Training review

DSi or Nintendo DSi XL
There are lots of beauty gadgets on the market aimed
at improving your facial looks and muscle tone known as non surgical face lifts
from dermarollers (ouch) to the slendertone for face at the other end of the
spectrum with a huge variety in the range in costs. But Nintendo’s Face Training is something new,
different and brings a new dimension to entertainment.
As Coco
Chanel said “Nature gives you the face you have at twenty; life shapes the face
you have at thirty; but at fifty, you get the face you deserve.” Point taken! So perhaps everyone should be
undertaking Face Training and this is definitely not one to just leave to the
young gamers!
So why is
Face Training beneficial? The skin is the largest organ of the body and it is
attached to our muscles, we all know the benefits of a regular fitness regime
for our bodies but we neglect to exercise our facial muscles and as the ageing
process sets in, our facial muscles sag and in turn the skin does too, creams
and potions cannot penetrate deep muscle tissue, botox stops the muscles from
being used, so we need to develop our facial muscles with a work out, if we are
to avoid those sagging jaw lines better known as turkey necks and avoid those jowls.
Face Training
is fun, effective and with repeated use may prove extremely beneficial in the
long term for maintaining a youthful facial appearance. Face Training can be used whether your in a
hurry or want to have a pamper night with the girls, I would thoroughly
recommended this for group entertainment, you will howl with laughter as you
and your guests master the exercises.
You can
select different training sessions by selecting the intensive training which
allows you to select exercises by duration, this is great if your in a hurry or
only have a limited amount of time available or you can select by the face area
that you want to improve or by the muscle categories of which there are sixteen
different muscle exercises.
Whichever
training exercise you select you are given notes of caution or warnings where
appropriate and you are always encouraged to undertake a warm up exercise
routine. If you select recommended
training you are given a series of three exercises to undertake.
Once you
have selected your chosen routine your face appears in the right hand side of
the screen, can be a bit of a shocker if you’re not used to seeing yourself on
camera, but in the main it’s hilarious! Calming and tranquil music accompanies
the exercises to give you an in the spa feeling or tranquil mood.
The main
menu is arranged to allow you to see the calendar and monitor your progression,
you can undertake recommended training or intensive training, or take a photo.
There is also “Miles’” room who guides you through your exercises and also cool
down button for after training purposes to allow you to cool down the muscles
that you have been working on.
This game
is great for young and old alike and also helpful for new entrants into beauty
who need to learn the names and locations of the muscles as part of anatomy and
physiology and for carrying out facials on clients, this will also ensure that
you know the types of exercises to recommend to clients for home use but I am
sure that you will prefer referring clients to Nintendo Face Training! The youngsters will learn to control their
muscles and it may in the long run prove very beneficial in maintaining a
youthful appearance. For more mature
ladies it may with long term use assist in firming up your neckline so it could
be really good value for money!
My
personal favourite is to do your facial exercises then have a lovely relaxing
bath to end your day you’ll feel great and with patience and perseverance over
a long period of time see improvements in your facial muscle tone, what have
you got to loose?
As a
complete novice to games consoles, I found the new Nintendo DSi XL easy and
intuitive to set up. Once fully charged
I was able to load the new Nintendo Face training game easily. The comprehensive on screen instructions make
setting up the training package easy to follow, all I had to do was confirm the
date and time and I was away.
Well done
Nintendo!
KiM Professional Makeup brushes
Review - Kim Professional Makeup
Brushes
I was
approached by Kim Makeup brushes to review two make-up brushes and have been
trialling the brushes now for two months.
Overall the brushes have performed exceptionally well, the quality of
the construction of the hand tied and glued bristles is high and I would
happily recommend these two brushes.

E121 – Squirrel Oval - £7.99
The
squirrel bristles of this dome shaped, medium density packed brush, are smooth
yet firm but not stiff. The eye-shadow brush
feels soft when applied on the eyelid. How
to use: It can be used to apply shadow
to the eyelid and it works well in the crease area and outer corner of the eye
and is good for blending and creating super soft finishes such as Smokey
eyes. It can also be used to soften
under eye liner for a soft smudged look as well.
The
construction of this brush stands up well, as the bristles don’t fall out when
tugged, so it is well anchored in the heel above the ferrule. With the student discount available it
represents excellent value for money and is a must have in make-up artist brush
sets.
I have
used this brush every day since receiving it for testing and it has retained
it’s shape for over two months now, the most common problem experienced with
natural bristle hairs is that over time they can be come floppy and too soft. To overcome this problem I only recommend one
brush cleaner which is essential for hygiene and safety and use a spray product
called “Brush Off” which leaves brushes touch dry within 45 seconds, so that
the brush can be re-used on another client.
Do not wash make-up artist’s brushes as this breaks down the hair shaft
and can break down the glue which hold the bristles together in the heel.
E101 – Sable Eye lining brush - £4.99
This is a
high quality super fine brush ideal for precision liquid and shadow eye
lining. It is the finest eye liner brush
that I have ever seen, that is still firm enough to apply to client’s eyelash
area. This is an excellent brush for working with liquid eye liners
particularly for fine details such as the inner corner of the eyelid. How to use: Apply a small quantity of the
liquid liner using the original applicator from the product on to a clean
plastic spatula then replace the lid on the original product. Dip the E121 sable eye lining brush into the
liquid liner on the spatula then apply on to the client in one stroke
elongating out of the corner eye to form a flick at the end if required. If more is required repeat the process with a
clean spatula never double dip directly into the original product. This brush represents excellent value for
money.
